QR codes and how they are changing social media and networking
Social media has made leaps and bounds through the years. What with Facebook and Twitter dominating the social media scene its no wonder a lot of social media companies are turning to QR codes to up the innovation anti. Social media websites link people to other people clear across the globe. It’s a tall order but I think QR codes can do it.
QR codes got a humble start in Japan with automobile parts but they have come a long way in terms of how we use them now. Social media is also something that came from humble beginnings. Once only meant for singles willing to chat and college students wanting to post their drunken escapade from the night before, we have come far.
Social media is not just for personal use. It is used to link with other businesses, to make contacts in order to promote your business and Facebook is one of just a few that is at the hub of this social empire. So, this is where QR codes play their part. We all know how easy it is to go on Facebook or Twitter via our smartphones but think about how easy it would be by just scanning a QR code and you are at the exact spot that you want to be? Social networking would be as simple as a scan away from everyone knowing who you are. So much in fact, that it does not surprise me when I see people posting their personal QR codes on the pages. Most of the time the QR code directs the person who scanned to a private website or a website of a persons work but the content is only limited to your imagination.
QR codes link to others just like we do on Facebook and Twitter but only it can be doen faster and you are the one directing where that person who scanned your code will go. You can take them on an interactive journey. Or simply show them what your products are or your vocal talent. Innovation starts with the individual and harldy stops there Social media, social networking are all linked and should be used together to create your own mini empire.
