QR Codes and buying a car
Buying a car can be a daunting task and sometimes nerve racking experience. It doesn’t need to be though, considering so many car dealerships are now using QR codes to help consumers make informed decisions. Buying a car doesn’t need to be a hassle with the right tools, nor do you need to feel like you are not getting the best bang for your buck. Also, it helps the dealership. A lot of dealerships are not open 7 days a week and instead of losing customers they are implanting QR codes to make the customer come back to the dealership. As with many companies they can offer special financing via QR code or say the customer did not have the most pleasant of experiences at the dealership so then they can go home and then use the QR code to look up information that they did not get from the dealership.
QR business cards are becoming quite the thing for car dealerships. Say, a customer walks into a dealership and he is simply looking. A salesmen will greet him and offer him information about potential cars. The customer then wishes to think about all the information he has just received, either by QR code or otherwise. The salesman gives the customer a business card with a QR code on it. After a day of shopping for cars the customer then has a handful of business cards but that one from earlier has a QR code on it. The customer then scans the QR code and is taken to a profile page of the salesmen he just met on the dealerships website. The profile page contains information about the salesmen, making him seem more human and not just someone who is out for a sale. There are even a few customer reviews for the customer to scan through to see if other people had good experiences. QR codes can making shopping for a car and trusting your salesman easier.
If people want to bypass the whole salesmen experience, what a great way to keep them informed and engaged with QR codes. A customer could be strolling the lot and come upon a car they like. Noticing a QR code they can scan it, which brings them to pricing information, general stats about the car, customer reviews, videos, a plethora of information that, again, can make buying simpler. Also, offering QR codes in car ads in the newspaper can make customers more inclined to buy from a specific dealer. This helps the dealerships drive revenue by preparing their customer before they even set foot on their lot.
Buying a car is daunting but sometimes having your car repaired is even worse. Waiting for a repair report while anxiously sitting in a car dealerships lounge area can be a nail biting experience. Therefore, QR codes printed on posters in the waiting are can be beneficial. Not only can a dealership offer information about the car and the work being done on it but it can also add an element of fun to it to engage the customer. Perhaps developing an interactive site that the QR code is linked to, adding games and quizzes to make the experience more about the customer and less about making money. QR codes in the automobile industry does not have to stop with the manufacturing of the vehicle but rather can be a tool to engage a customer and keep them coming back for all their automobile needs.
